Recently ive been trying to zero in on a good set of speakers. It started of with the need to listen to music from my comp and get out of this leash ( called a earphone) ( though im not complaining abt the music quality ... but i sure do want to share the music with others at times and thats an impossibility ...as of now)
the second use for this is ... my Xbox / DVDs ... id want to watch a good movie now and then and a lil hometheatre wont hurt
So : comp gives me 6.1 op meaning i can buy just abt anything..
this lead me to

Creative 5400 : 5.1 sound system with neat tweeters.
Pros : Creative, Cost, Tweeters, Wired remote has earphone jack
Cons: Old system, not available readily in india

Creative 5200: 5.1 sound without neat tweeters!
Pros: Creative, Cost (cheaper than 5400),Available in India
Cons: Entry level system. Looks CHEAP!
Cost :Rs 5000

Creative 6600: 6.1 sound
Pros: 6.1 sound, wired remote with earphone jack,cost
Cons: Bad construction, Not-so -friendly reviews abt the woofer
Cost: Rs 5400

Logitech Z640 : 5.1 sound
Pros: Every review raves to no end about this one, THS, DD,DTS, very good sound , A Zen spkr sys for a Uber machine .... But an entry level hometheater / Audio hifi system spkr set.
cons: cost, availibility in india?

Logitech Z3500: 5.1 sound
Pros: downsized Z640, Good Reviews everywhere
Cons: Cost, Logitech !!!(they are good for mice.. but i have heard of typhoon speakers...but not logitech sprks!)
